Itinerary
1
See you at our meeting point
We'll meet you at an assigned meeting point in the Roma Sur neighborhood. This convenient location allows us to quickly access the subway and efficiently reach our first destination.
2
Jamaica Market
This is my favorite market—easy to navigate, friendly people, and amazing food. We'll try delicious carnitas or huaraches (a thick corn tortilla with beans and prickly pear cactus salad). Aisles are filled with vibrant flowers, and vendors expertly shine tomatoes to an extra red hue! Tell me about Mexican veggie marketing hacks!
3
Centro Historico (Downtown)
Retaking the metro, we head to the Zocalo, the heart of the city. We'll visit the majestic Metropolitan Cathedral, explore the vibrant Zocalo, and stop at the open ruins of the Templo Mayor, uncovering the city's rich Aztec heritage. Along the way, we'll learn about the foundation of Mexico City and discover its fascinating history.
4
Taco stop
To refuel and experience the authentic flavors of Mexico City, we'll make a stop at a local favorite taquería. Here, you'll have the chance to savor delicious tacos or quesadillas.
5
Alameda Park
After lunch, we'll continue our stroll through the city, making our way to the beautiful Alameda Central Park, located in front of the stunning Palacio de Bellas Artes. This picturesque park is the perfect spot to conclude our tour, surrounded by the city's vibrant energy and rich cultural heritage. We'll say our goodbyes here, but don't worry - we won't leave you hanging! We did the glimpse of Mexico city tour and it was excellent. Our guide was really nice, easy to communicate with, and offered excellent insight into different aspects of Mexico city including the markets, and historical & cultural perspectives. Highly recommend.

I have been on many walking tours in many cities and the "Glimpse of Mexico City" led by Gabriel is one of the best.
I have rarely met someone with so much passion for a city.
Her in depth knowledge of architecture, food and history made the full day tour pass by quickly.
It was like spending a fun day with a good friend who loves the city.

The first tour gave me a great overview of the history, architecture and life of the city including several strategically timed food stops. And I was able to gain an insight into the complex issues that Mexico City and Mexico as a whole currently faces, from a local's perspective. I would never have achieved this on my own or with a large tour group. I also felt quite safe riding the Metro, taxis and venturing into local markets in out of the way areas with a local Spanish speaker.
